The 36th Annual Run Through the Vineyard is Temecula's premier running event and is the Temecula Sunrise Rotary Club's major fundraising event for the various community service projects it provides, such as a literacy program with local elementary schools, youth leadership programs, and scholarships for at-risk youth in which the Club is involved. Surrounded by the Temecula Valley's beautiful hills and mountains, the course will take you through the lovely vineyard at the Maurice Car'rie Vineyard and Winery. As March unfolds, anticipation builds for the breathtaking sight of wisteria blooming in Temecula Valley.  Each Spring in the Temecula Valley, Wisteria trees put on a spectacular display of wonderfully fragrant flowers with cascading blooms. If you’re planning a trip here in late April or early May, it’s worth seeking them out.  Known botanically as Wisteria sinensis, Wisteria first came to the U.S. in the early 1800s from Asia. This woody vine boasts stunning blooms within the first five years of planting, grows 10 to 25 feet or higher, and can live for a hundred years or more.  There are several places in the Temecula Valley where you can marvel at this stunning perennial vine, which makes a picture-perfect backdrop for family or engagement photos and instagrammable moments. 

A "one-day-only" Special Event on Sunday, April 28th: The De Portola Wine Trail's annual Big Red Fest will feature foodie delights from local chefs, paired with three red wines at each winery. Enjoy unfinished barrel and tank wine samples, as well as finished and newly released wines at this once-a-year barrel tasting event. What happens when top local chefs combine forces with high school culinary arts students to benefit a worthy cause? Chef-student teams will compete for both “Judges Choice” and “People’s Choice” awards. The “Loaded Fries” competition offers culinary students a unique opportunity to engage with a professional chef. “Pechanga has a long history of giving back to the community,” said Andre Pinto, Executive Chef of Pechanga Resort Casino. “The Battle of the Burgers brings giving back to another level where working chefs can impart their knowledge and skills on the next generation entering the culinary world. The event is as great for the students as it is for our chefs. Both gain valuable insights and come away from the event with even more real-world knowhow.”   The last Battle of the Burgers competition, which was held before the start of the pandemic in 2019, sold out with 400 hungry guests in attendance.
